Lansdale man looking to help home country of South Sudan (video)
LANSDALE — From an apartment on Cannon Avenue, Benjamin Abeny Gai will be paying very close attention to headlines from half a world away on July 9.
That’s the day that Africa’s largest country is expected to officially split in two, and Gai says he’s looking forward to South Sudan’s declaration of independence and doing his part to help the new country.
“July 9 will kind of be like July 4th is for America. It’s independence time for us, so it will be very historic,” he said.
